Who It's For

Perfect for nursery-age girls needing a first haircut, a fringe tidy or a little shaping to reduce tangles. Suitable for fine, straight, wavy or curly hair.

Great for parents who want a quick, stress-free visit and a gentle, reassuring approach. Also ideal for children who are nervous in new settings.

Duration & Appointment Timing

This appointment is 30 minutes. It includes a short chat, time for your child to settle, the cut and a simple finish.

Arrive a few minutes early if you can. Bringing a favourite toy or small snack helps. If hair is very long, very thick or tangle-prone, add a note when booking so we can advise on timing. Please book siblings in separate slots for a calm pace.

Aftercare & Maintenance

To keep hair healthy and easy to manage, book trims every 8 to 12 weeks. Fringes may need a tidy every 4 to 6 weeks.

At home, use a gentle shampoo and a small amount of conditioner on the ends. Detangle from the tips up with a wide-tooth comb on damp hair and a light detangling spray. Soft plaits or ponytails with fabric bobbles help reduce knots at nursery. Avoid tight elastics and unnecessary heat.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do first haircuts work?
We start with a brief chat, then introduce the tools and work slowly so your child feels safe. Breaks are fine and we never rush. If you’d like a small keepsake lock, let us know at the start and we can save one.
What should we bring to the appointment?
A favourite toy or small snack can help your child feel settled. Please arrive with clean, dry hair and avoid heavy products, tight hairstyles or hair accessories.
Can my child sit on my lap?
Yes, if it helps them feel secure. We position you both safely and work around you to keep the haircut calm and comfortable.
Do you cut curly or textured hair for little ones?
Yes. We tailor the cut to the curl pattern, using minimal tension or working on dry hair when helpful. The aim is a soft shape that reduces tangles and supports wash-and-go styling.
How often should my child have a haircut?
Most nursery-age children do well with a trim every 8 to 12 weeks to keep ends healthy. Fringes may need a tidy every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how quickly hair grows.
